Rena Mkhitaryan, MS, CCC-SLP

Rena was born in Yerevan, Armenian and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 8 years old. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from California State University Los Angeles, and a master’s degree of science in speech language pathology from Nova Southeastern University.

Rena has extensive experience working with infants, toddlers and school-aged children with a variety of communication delays/disorders and other medical diagnosis. She has experience working with children in a variety of settings including: in clinic, in home and in the classroom. She has experience working with the Glendale Unified School district. She values building relationships with her clients and families. She believes that therapy should focus on functional communication, self-advocacy, promote the clients’ cultural traditions/values and most importantly be play based and fun!

Rena is fluent in Armenian. Rena has extensive experience working with bilingual children and children who use a variety of AAC including: low tech communication boards, and a variety of devices.

In her free time, Rena enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Taking her dog Lucky on hikes, painting and going to concerts.
