Miel holds a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California, where she also completed her bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science. She was raised in Hawai’i but now considers Los Angeles her second home. Miel has experience working with individuals across the lifespan including children and youth in outpatient pediatrics, to adults and older adults in both inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient neurological settings. Miel has extensive experience designing and running group-based social skills classes at schools, as well as running a structured UCLA PEERS-based program to develop social-emotional skills among preschool and school-age children. Miel holds a graduate certificate in Sensory Processing and Sensory Integration from USC, and is passionate about helping kids grow and thrive while meeting their sensory and regulation needs.
In Miel’s free time, she enjoys reading, dancing, hiking, and spending quality time with her friends, family, and 2 cats!
